It doesn’t matter how large or small your company or business is, you should take the time to work with and reward your target audience for buying into your products and brand.  After all without them all the marketing, PR, product advertising and business networking that you do would be a waste.  PR campaigns usually have two objectives; ensure continuing brand loyalty with consumers and look to grow their market by new customers.

Here at Virtual Secretary Solutions I have recently had the pleasure in working the team at Fairy in being part of their Fairy Godmothers campaign.  The campaign has been set up by Fairy to work with 12 mums and mums to be, and working with them on a series of video diary topics about the experience of pregnancy, birth, being a mum and all it entails.

Becoming a mum for the very first time is a precious and momentous occasion, and it’s for this reason that Fairy has launced the Fairy Godmothers’ campaign. Fairy has created a community of pregnant women and mums who have had their first baby recently to bring together ‘Fairy Godmothers’ from all over the land!

Since the campaign started Fairy have engaged each one of their focus group in a series of video diaries on a variety of topics, sent out a series of informative, eye catching and most of all interactive HTML emails, provided the mums and mums to be with a series of money off vouchers for Fairy products (helping to continue brand loyalty), vouchers for money off baby clothes at Oh Baby London clothing boutique, and also provided the mums with a handheld miniature camcorder which they are able to keep on completion of the diaries.

As part of this focus group and campaign it has been for me a positive experience.  I have got to work with a product that I enjoy using, have been able to spread the word about the product to friends and family through a combination of using the money off vouchers from Fairy as well as forwarding the internet link to the Fairy Godmothers diary room, and I also feel as if Fairy have rewarded me for taking part in their campaign and using their product through the careful use of gifts and incentives from them.  Furthermore working with them will ensure that I continue to use their products for the forseeable future as I feel a loyaly and brand affiliation to them as a result of working on their project.  All in all a successful campaign from the point of view of Fairy.

Although Fairy is a large corporate company and there will have been substantial funding behind the campaign, even small companies can work with their target consumer cheaply and effectively.  Virtual Secretary Solutions have worked with local businesses in creating customer surveys and research panels which received small rewards for their time.  This initiative was not only beneficial to the business but also to the customers they worked with as they received a gift – which always goes down well.
